Industrial/PhD Course: Turbulence theory and modeling - CANCELLED
- Time
- Monday 16. April 2012 at 8:30 - Wednesday 18. April 2012 at 17:00
This course aims to provide the fundamentals of turbulence theory and modeling with focus on the capability of turbulence models to predict mean and turbulence quantities. After the course the student should be able to understand and apply the turbulence models which are used in both industry and academia. The course aims at the student which has a basic knowledge about Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) but students without prior knowledge about CFD, but which encounters turbulence flows in their PhD project e.g. wind loads on wind turbines can benefit too.
The course will consist of blocks of class lectures with smaller exercises, some video, and possible some discussion to break down the monotony. The following blocks are included: The origin of turbulence, Analysis of turbulence measurement, The equations of turbulence, Turbulence models.
Pre-requirements:
The students should be familiar with CFD
