PhD student receives price for outstanding application paper · 1. August 2011
In July Nils Kristiansen received a distinguished price for his outstanding application paper. He was awarded the price at the 30th International Conference on Thermoelectrics, held in Traverse City in Michigan.
Nils Kristiansen is enrolled at the Department of Energy Technology as an industrial PhD. He is employed within TeamTec – a company that develops and produces marine waste incinerators.
The title of the paper was “Waste heat recovery from a marine waste incinerator using a thermoelectric generator". The paper describes a technical-economic model for installation of thermoelectric generators in the flue gas from a marine waste incinerator and the paper sums up Nils’ research within use of thermoelectric generators for the last two years.
The paper was written in cooperation with Jeffrey Snyder from the California Institute of Technology and Nils’ two supervisors Henrik Kofoed Nielsen from the University in Agder and Professor Lasse Rosendahl from the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University.
