Prof. Ion Boldea from Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania
The Joint Chapter of IEEE IAS/PELS/IES would like to bring you this 40-minute distinguished lecture (DL) with additional 20 minutes for dialogue on “University in the 21st Century: a teacher’s view”.
ABOUT THE LECTURER
Ion Boldea (M’77–SM’81–F’96–LF’14) received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Timisoara, Romania, in 1967 and 1973, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor with the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Timisoara, Romania. He has worked and authored or coauthored extensively in linear and rotary electric machines, drives, and magnetic levitation vehicles. He has authored or co-authored numerous books, with 6000 entrances in libraries worldwide. Dr. Boldea is a member of the Industrial Drives Committee and the Electric Machines Committee of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS). Since 1996, he has been the Chairman of the OPTIM International Conferences (IEEE IAS sponsored). He was the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Nikola Tesla Award.
