Parasitic capacitance contributed by power components is one of the most important factors limiting the best-performance of converters enabled by Wide-band-gap devices. In the applications of medium-voltage SiC MOSFETs, the parasitic capacitance contributed by filter inductors can introduce significant capacitive current into the circuit. Modeling the capacitive couplings in medium-voltage filter inductors by using physics-based and behavior-based methods, as well as the reducing approaches of parasitic capacitance, are proposed in the Ph.D. project.
