AAU Spinout Company commercialize Thermal Comfort Solutions
ParsNord Thermal Comfort ApS (PNTC) is a spinout company from Aalborg University, Department of Energy Technology and funded by the “Innovation Fund Denmark”. The company invented a new manufacturing method to fabricate cheaper and scalable flexible thermoelectric modules. So the inventive step includes both designing and manufacturing which are based on hybrid printed electronics. These modules can be used in a diverse range of applications such as automobile climate control.

Assistant Prof. Sanjeevikumar Padmanaban, Associate Prof. Jens Bo Holm-Neilsen, et al. received the best paper award for the research contribution on the topic: "A New Multilevel Member of Modified CUK Converter Family for Renewable Energy Application" from 4th IEEE International Conference on Energy Conversion, IEEE-CENCON, held in Indonesia, on October 16th and 17th 2019.

Today is a big day at the department. After 26 years as the Head of Department, John K. Pedersen has been appointed as the new Pro-dean for Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Engineering and Science and as PhD Study Director at the Doctoral School of Engineering and Science
AAU professor awarded Global Energy Prize 2019
Professor Frede Blaabjerg of Aalborg University has just received the prestigious world science award ‘Global Energy Prize’ at a ceremony in Moscow in acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution to the transition to green energy.

On 3rd September Mateja Novak received the Outstanding Young EPE Member Award for the paper presented at EPE'18 on applying the statistical model checking approach for the performance validation of the FS-MPC controlled NPC converter.
