Martin Trolle Arentsen received 1st price from the Energy Sponsor Programme for his Master’s thesis entitled “Partial discharge and corona of high frequency transformer for space application in near vacuum” this summer. Martin conducted his work in cooperation with FLUX A/S.
This project shows Martin's strong skills in a very complex and diverse project incorporating theories and methods from very different areas such as high voltage technology, power electronics and space applications. His project has brought FLUX a huge step forward in being able to offer reliable and well-tested power electronic components for space applications.
Martin’s supervisors Professor Claus Leth Bak and Associate Professor Filipe da Silva from Department of Energy Technology’s Section for Electric Power Systems nominated Martin to IDA Elektrofondets kandidatpris for best Master’s thesis. IDA is the Danish Engineering association which offers this price for electrical engineering candidates on a national basis each year.
We are very proud to announce that Martin has received this year’s IDA Elektrofondets price for best master’s thesis. The price which consists of a diploma and DKK 10.000 was awarded at a ceremony at IDA’s main office in Copenhagen November 22nd 2018.
Martin is working as an Electrical Engineer, R&D Platform Specialist at DEIF A/S, Power & Marine Division.
